Peter graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1982 and spent 3½ years in mixed practice in Derbyshire and West Sussex . He moved to Worthing in 1985 where he took over a single-handed small animal practice in 1988. The practice now has 5 veterinary surgeons and 6 nursing staff, of whom 4 are VNs trained at the practice.

His principal interest has been in practice management and in recent years the practice has gained the BSAVA standard (now RCVS tier 2) and the Investors in People standard. His interest in clinical audit arose from the experience of preparing clinical guidelines for the practice and he will be concentrating on this area for his MSc research.

Peter is married to Tess; they have 6 children and currently share the house with two Flat-Coated Retrievers, a degu and a corn snake. His interests include walking, photography, computing, music and amateur dramatics. He is also a Lay Reader in a local Anglican church.
